ABOUT THE EVENT
QUACK-QUACK! The 2026 PBA Pluck-A-Duck Raffle Event is a fantastic 2-day event held on August 9th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and on Monday, August 10 at NOON. The Raffle Event joins forces with the Town of Putnam’s Main Street Car Cruise on August 9, featuring over 2500 classic cars, live music, and our huge Kids Corner in Rotary Park with FREE activities for families and kids of all ages, including bounce houses & games, Xen’s Critters, photo booth, arts & crafts, face painting, Balloons by Bella, mascot appearances, vendors, Wonderful Waddle Scavenger Hunt and so much more! Post a special wish that would make you feel just ducky on the Wall Of Wishes, and a donation will be made to Make-A-Wish Connecticut, in support of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Test your skill to make our local celebrities take the plunge in the Celebrity Dunk Tank, sponsored by WIN Waste Innovations. Only $5 for 2 throws or $20 for a guaranteed dunk!
Are you a JEEP owner? Don’t miss our Duck, Duck, Jeep Contest! JEEP owners are encouraged to turn heads by creating the most duck-tastic ride in town with this rubber duck-themed decorating contest, held at this year’s August 9 Main Street Car Cruise. JEEP owners can deck out their JEEP with ducks, yellow flair, and splashy style, and compete to win one of three categories, with trophies & gift cards awarded, sponsored by Runnings!
On Monday, August 10, thousands of rubber ducks will be released at our secret duck pond location in Putnam, CT, and broadcast live on WINY Radio & Facebook at Noon, with over 100 fantastic prizes awarded to the lucky ‘plucked’ ducks! Prizes include gift certificates, tickets to events, overnight getaways, gift baskets, and much more, including the grand prizes of a $1000 VISA Gift Card, sponsored by Breezeline and Byrnes Agency/HUB International! And after all prizes have been plucked, the final nine waddlers out of the pond will be selected for our Last Lucky Ducks prizes, sponsored by D.B.C. Solutions.
A new way to win this year is with our Ultimate Duck Count Contest. Starting May 1 through August 10, stop by JT’s Appliance, 51 Pomfret Street in Putnam, CT, Monday through Sunday, to cast your vote for the number of rubber ducks in the Mini Duck Mobile. The person who guesses closest to the correct number of ducks, without going over, will win a $100 VISA Gift Card.
Beyond the fun, this fundraising event has a huge impact on our community! The PBA Pluck-a-Duck Raffle is the major fundraiser for the Putnam Business Association. Funds raised will support the PBA’s 200+ local members and beloved free community events like the Zombie Fashion Show, Great Pumpkin Festival, and Fairy & Magic Festival, each drawing thousands of visitors to Northeast Connecticut.
Over 35 non-profit organizations will also benefit from selling duck raffle tickets to help raise critical funds for their mission and those they serve in our community.
