A collaborative effort between The Town of Putnam and the Putnam Business Association's Beautification Committee to revitalize the towns holiday decor.
Planned in phases, these beautiful enhancements focus on the Main Street area, Rotary Park and general downtown spaces - replacing the more than 15-year old holiday lights and decor currently in use.
‘Help Santa Take Flight’ is phase 3 of the project, creating a dynamic visual to improve the long standing, magical, holiday tradition known as “Santa over the Falls” located at Cargill Falls, in Putnam, CT.
completed phases
phase #3: Santa Over the Falls
‘Help Santa Take Flight’ was the 3rd phase of the project, creating a dynamic visual to improve the long standing, magical, holiday tradition known as “Santa over the Falls” located at Cargill Falls, in Putnam, CT.
phase #2: The Big Ornament
Phase 2 brought “The Big Ornament” to Rotary Park in January 2019. The beautiful, 28-foot tall attraction allows spectators to walk through for a wonderful photo-opp and serves as the centerpiece of Rotary Park for the holiday season.
phase #1: Downtown Installation
Started in 2017, phase 1 chose to focus on Main Street. Over $20,000 was raised for the project - allowing for the purchase of four swags snowflake lights stretching over Main Street, along with white lights on trees that line the street. And for a pop of color, the two large pine trees at the intersection of Kennedy Drive and Route 44 were illuminated with multi-color lights.
